If you grew up in the 21st century, all you know is our current hangdog, ashamed, self-conscious country, embarrassed by its own shadow, tail between its legs, stooping and supplicating, begging everyone’s forgiveness for its sins.
But if you were fortunate to have experienced any of the last few decades of the 20th, then you know: it was not always thus! The national vibe (until quite recently!) was cool confidence bordering on arrogance.
Earnest, unironic patriotism was hot. It was cool to be American. It was sexy. Americans ruled and it was okay to say so, with no hedging or waffling or lame equivocating.
Variety just published a list of the most all-American movies to watch on the Fourth of July and—shocker—it’s mostly 80s and 90s classics. No recent Oscar winners? No remakes or sequels? No Disney?
The movies reflected how Americans thought of themselves until recently. Confident. Tough. Independent. Cool.
The stuff that we thought was cool tended to be macho: the cars, the movie stars, the sports, the muscles, even the technology. Girls were fine with that—we liked masculine guys. No one wanted to date a wimp—they wanted to date a winner. Women—brace yourselves—were not looking for male feminist allies to woo them. (They still aren’t, but they’re not allowed to say so anymore).
America the “brand” was not strictly “male,” of course. It was just strong. It had swagger. Men and women both aspired to this and embodied this. Americanism was an attitude.
And it was color-blind and class-blind.
Sadly, in 2024, we are witnessing in real time what happens when America loses its swagger and assumes the submissive position. Our figurehead is a weak, addled senior citizen who spent his entire career draining the life blood from his country for his own craven benefit.
His key constituents are unhappy women who were wronged by the men in their lives and are now taking out that anger on the country.
Women overwhelmingly support Joe Biden over Donald Trump. Amazing—I can’t relate, so maybe I’m the weirdo.
“Republican” has become a stand-in for the father they hate, or the boyfriend who dumped their unbearable self, or the boys who ignored them in high school. These angry Biden women demand that their fellow citizens supplicate themselves for their past wrongs, grovel for their forgiveness (which they will not grant), and pledge to be better. In a confident, dominant America, these women have no power.
It is only in a broken country that has lost its way that these women can claim any power, since they can harness the collective grievances and become an interest group.
Anti-Americanism, Right Here at Home
I spent a lot of time in Europe in the late eighties and early nineties, thanks to my best friend. She was an immigrant from South Africa, whose parents were English and German, respectively. Every summer she would be sent off to visit relatives in England and France, and I would get to come along for part of it. This was when trips to Europe were relatively cheap; you could have a real good time with a few hundred bucks in American Express traveler’s checks and your trusty “Let’s Go” backpacking guide.
I remember getting some flak from the young Europeans we’d meet—for being American. Sometimes they were openly hostile. It came off as pure jealousy; how dare these American girls run around laughing at our primitive European toilets with no toilet seats, our inexplicable lack of soda, our baffling ignorance on how to make ice cubes!
Yes, we admired the art and the architecture and the charming villages, but we did occasionally snicker at the “sophisticated” Europeans who apparently still enjoyed squatting over holes instead of sitting on clean white porcelain, and had not yet experience the pleasure of an ice-cold Diet Coke on a hot summer day.
Once or twice we even had to resort to “without us you’d be speaking German!” I bet no American ever bothers to say that over there now—they’re all speaking Arabic or Turkish or Urdu in Europe anyway.
Europe has chosen submission. It has leaned all the way in to a deformed, neutered, lobotomized version of itself, borderless, lawless, formless, at the mercy of the invading hordes who pillage it for profit and pleasure, abandoned by its feckless leaders, whose amputated testicles float in jars in European Longhouse Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen’s medicine cabinet.
The knee-jerk anti-Americanism in Europe has infected the United States. We are on the precipice today of installing our own gynocratic cackle-garchy in the form of one Kamala Harris.
Kamala and her grievance-laden constituents think America is bad, that’s it’s always been bad, and that it owes them. The only way to make America great is for America to pay up. They plan to extract their reparations, their reproductive justice, and their “rights” with a blow torch and pliers if they have to.
Lean In—to Americanism
Therefore I am calling for all Americans, men and women, young and old, to embrace their swagger. Refuse to bow. Never complain, never explain, and never, ever apologize.
Ladies, I am going to need some of you to do this, too. If it truly is happiness and freedom and independence you crave, then you will not find it under the authoritarian comfort heel of the Kamala Army.
Reject this anti-American ideology that seeks to crush everything that made this country great.
Refuse to allow them one more foot of advance into the sovereign territory of your own mind and soul. They shall not advance, they shall not pass!
Come what may, I am proud to be an American. I would die for this country—but I would not spare a drop of blood or shed a tear for those that hate it.
Happy 4th of July—now go forth, and celebrate greatness!
Thanks for reading!

I’m normally not a fan of women in combat, but I’ll make an exception for women who vote for Biden. If we get into a war, they’ll be the reason anyway.
America, f*ck yeah!
But seriously, and I hate to be ungentlemanly, but for whatever reason many women seem unwilling or unable to recognize the toxic politics engendered in the Democrat party. Worse, many of them wholly buy into the nonsense these nitwits are peddling. How to explain?
Young women should be focused on getting themselves a husband and caring for their families; young men should be focused on getting themselves a wife and supporting their families. The exceptions will do what they have always done: their own thing. This isn't complicated. I'm grateful that the push back is starting. I hope it is enough to restore sanity (at least outside of big cities).
