A New MacArthur Genius Grant
The time has come.
Note: I posted a version of this post a year ago and then nearly launched the Grant, but sadly got tied up in work and kid-related activities. I did manage to get some generous pledges! But it was not quite enough to make the fiscal sponsorship fees work and I tabled the project for the moment.
But the need is still there, more than ever. If we are ever going to get serious about creativity and culture on the right, then we need to be nurturing talent without strings, without P/L statements, and without worrying too much about the returns.
This seems like a smart investment. And at least you can’t get rugged!
What is the Saint Genesius Grant?
It’s a monetary grant to a chosen beneficiary who is doing something interesting and creative. There are no strings attached, just like the MacArthur Genius Grant.
The goal is simple: Nurture the best creators to help us renew the culture.
Why this is important: Right now, still, to this day, we face unchallenged…
